The Antlion Hill is a tall mound of earth created by Antlions above their underground nests, used in ventilation, and for the purposes of quickly leaving the nests and addressing threats. They have similarities to real-world termite mounds.

Overview

• Like an Antlion hole, Antlion Hills allow them to breach the surface and take out threats.
• Antlion hills are found along the Coast, near Nova Prospekt, and in the Outlands, all places where they thrive below ground.

Behind the scenes

• Its name comes from its original model, anthill.mdl.
• It went through two other designs. One is used in the playable Half-Life 2 Beta, while the other is the preview .jpg image for the retail model.
