"You have no idea how tiring it is to praise someone for placing an Edgeless Safety Cube into a receptacle designed to exactly fit an Edgeless Safety Cube."
The Aperture Science Edgeless Safety Cube Receptacle is a testing element only used throughout the Aperture ScienceEnrichment Center during the cooperative campaign of Portal 2.[1]
Edgeless Cubes must be placed into the receptacle to activate certain testing elements such as doors, platforms, or in deploying more testing elements.[1]
Cubes can not be placed in the Aperture Science Edgeless Safety Cube Receptacle, only a Edgeless Safety Cube can be placed inside them.
They are only used in the cooperative campaign. There are no records of a Safety Cube Receptacle ever existing in the singleplayer campaign. (Not counting mods.)
