The Aperture Science Shredder is a device made of spinning gear-like blades that destroy anything on impact. It first appears in Portal 2 during the single-player campaign outside the Neurotoxin Generator, where is it shredding 'defective' turrets. Later, in Chapter 9, Wheatley opens a wall in front Chell, revealing a Shredder trap. Shredders appear more often during the co-op campaign, where GLaDOS uses them as a hazard in test chambers.
