The Combine Prisoner Transport (CPT for short) is an armored Combine transportation truck used only by Civil Protection to transport Citizens (as well as any form of Resistance) that were to be captured in Half-Life: Alyx and taken for custody. The prison truck is used by the Combine in Half-Life 2.

Overview

The truck was inspired by the Combine SWAT Truck, with some of it having similarity to the APC from Half-Life 2. The vehicle was meant to be used only by Civil Protection to capture both dissenting Citizens and any other possible form of Resistance. In truck's cabin there are two seats; one for the driver (left) and one for the passenger (right). The rear of the vehicle has several seats for use by prisoners. A weaponized version exists with a Combine Mounted Gun on the back, replacing the standard transport compartment.

Storyline

During the early stages of the game, multiple Prisoner Transports can be seen arriving after moving through the launderette area; Civil Protection officers can be seen herding suspects into the rear through a gate.

After Eli and Alyx Vance are arrested by the Combine during the apartment raid, two Civil Protection officers use a Prisoner Transport to relocate Alyx for further questioning. However, Russell uses a modified City Scanner to throw a grenade into the truck's cab, killing the CPs and causing them to crash. The scanner then uses a laser to cut open the rear doors, freeing Alyx.

Russell intended to hit Eli's Prisoner Transport, but got Alyx and her father mixed up resulting in him freeing the latter on accident. This would jumpstart Alyx's journey to rescue her father.

During the Strider boss fight, Alyx uses a weaponized variant's mounted gun to destroy the Synth before entering the Vault.
