Guard Duty, It is upcoming of conversion source Modification of Half-Life 2 and remake of the Half-Life: Blue Shift. It is considering as companion to Black Mesa: Source. Again like Operation Black Mesa (Opposing Force Source), the two developers team are not associated with each other.

Overview

Guard Duty, whose begin their development since after the Operation Black Mesa and Black Mesa: Source have announced just like the team it say. They won't wait very long as they took their task on their hand. The former name was title Barney's Tales. The Project was going very smoothly and was very fashion design based on the original of the chapters from Beginning to the end without any hesitation they releasing more of the media of the project[2].

In Late 2008, the Team was disabled due to unknown reason as the team member haven't even announced anything and the entire project goes abandoned. Some of the team member from Operation Black Mesa came in and help even one of their main level designer coming and help replacing the leader of the project starting to contacting of the former abandon team member to release some of the work. So that they can continue without starting from beginning again. However, It failed as they will start it from scratch. As they release one of the Teaser Media of starting of the project again, changing the title into Guard Duty a tribute of former name of the original Blue Shift.

In January 28, 2012, They decided to merge with Operation Black Mesa and Form the Tripmine Studio due to the members of the decision after conversion a lot of it and weeks. They finally accepting and working together as a team for the future work of both project.

Detail

The Main Objectives of this project:

  • A Complete re-creation of the Whole Chapters including the Epilogue.
  • Models like Operation Black Mesa will push the Game Engine to the limited.
  • Mutliplayer will be completely different then other modification rather then a death-match, Team Death-Match and the Capture the Flag. It will be a running, surviving and working together to getting out of facility before completely destroyed. Just like the Operation Black Mesa it won't be in the early release
  • New Voice Acting, Sounds and Visuals that you will never see in the original.
  • Level Designer of the chapter will be expanding much further then ever. that will utilize the advanced physics engine introduced everything that in Half Life 2
  • Remixed and New Soundtrack will be include from the original will be enhanced.
