Half-Life: Generation is a compilation set of various titles that was released outside North America by Sierra Entertainment.
Releases[]
The first version of Half-Life: Generation was released in 1999. It consisted of the Game of the Year Edition of Half-Life and Opposing Force as separate big box copies within a slipcover. The North American counterpart to this release was the Half-Life Adrenaline Pack, however the difference which also counts for every other edition of Generation is that Team Fortress Classic is included as part of the original game and not as a separate disc.[2]
In November 2000, the second version was released, which added Counter-Strike to the compilation. This version was sold in a single box containing two jewel cases: one with the original game and Counter-Strike, and the other with Opposing Force.[3] The North American counterpart to this release was Half-Life Platinum.
In March 2002, the final version was released, adding Blue Shift. to create a complete Half-Life experience. This edition was sold in a double DVD keep case instead of a big box, unlike the other versions, and featured brand new packaging. The North American counterpart to this release was the Half-Life Platinum Collection.[4]
