Half-Life Beyond is a science fiction action horror first-person shooter currently being developed by DeepVelocity, it is set in the Half-Life universe and runs on the Unreal Engine 5.
Gameplay[]
Half-Life Beyond is played primarily from a first person perspective with the goal being to progress through the game's levels by fighting enemies and solving puzzles and obstacles blocking the way. Players assume the role of a new mexico civilian who stumbles upon Black Mesa while the Resonance Cascade incident is going on, players then acquire an upgradeable version of the H.E.V suit that allows them to perform new actions when upgraded such as double jumping or firing a grappling hook, these upgrades can be unlocked using crystals which can be obtained from Xen Relay warp points that can be found occasionally around the facility.
New enhancements to the base gameplay are also introduced such as being able to grab onto ledges, tossing or holding to long throw grenades with a quick key press rather than having to manually switch to a separate weapon slot, or performing a quick melee attack while equipped with a weapon other than melee weapon.
The game also features multiplayer with 4 game modes: Co-op which allows players to play through the games singleplayer campaign as a team, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture The Flag.
Additionally players can unlock extra content such as new player character skins by completing preset challenges, these challenges range from simple like obtaining a specific number of kills to performing specific actions in specified game modes.
