Template:Weapon The Ice Axe is a weapon cut from Half-Life 2. It can be found in the playable Half-Life 2 Beta.

Overview

The true purpose of an ice axe is a multi-purpose mountaineering tool carried by practically every mountaineer.

In the Half-Life 2 Beta, the Ice Axe was to be found and first used in the Borealis levels as the players only melee weapon. It worked exactly like Gordon's trademark crowbar and hit at about the same speed, but was significantly weaker in damage. Most likely around the time that the Borealis level and artic concept was scrapped, the Ice Axe became redundant and was dropped as well.
