Communications system?[]

The devices seem to have a button on them also. I suggest a move to "Aperture Science Communication System", to augment the fact that they can be used to communicate both ways, not just as an announcement system. --Bramblepath 21:34, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

While I see what you mean, I'd rather stick to the name we are sure about. Klow 22:01, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Shouldn't this page have the "conjectural title" tag on it? Shadgrimgrvy 07:23, March 8, 2010 (UTC)
While it is half true, it's enough to add it, yeah. Klow 12:31, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

My opinion[]

I don't think these two articles should be merged at all. They're two completely different things. The Announcement System is just a conjectural name for the Announcer, which is some sort of AI that handles certain parts of the Enrichment Center. The speaker system however is just a way for GLaDOS to speak to the player in some parts. It's basically just a voicebox, where as the Announcer is something else. One is just a speaker, whereas the other is some kind of AI. I agree. Bramblepath 16:13, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Possible use in Portal (1) end song?[]

I think the screen and speaker may have been used for relay of GLaDOS's song/letter Still Alive to Chell's long-term relaxation chamber at the end of the game. I say this because in Portal 2 a monitor floating through space is used to show Want You Gone. If someone could look through the 2nd game's files to see if the model is there, I'm curious. Thanks in advanced. -Alex B. 05:07, February 12, 2012 (UTC)
