Route Kanal[]

From Wiktionary: kànāl m (Cyrillic spelling ка̀на̄л)

   canal
   channel

It is of Croatian/Slovenian vocabulary, so could this be a reference to where you are at the time? Since this is only speculation, it's not going into the article just yet, but I'd like some conformation on this.

Chapter 2?[]

Just wanted to point out that you missed any introduction to Chapter 2: "A Red Letter Day" That's all :) 65.28.7.229 20:34, January 7, 2012 (UTC)

Point Insertion - What are the bags with camera lenses?[]

In the beginning of Half Life 2, when you are in the trainstation, right after the trash can metrocop, you see citizens standing in line to collect what appears to be a bag with a camera lens on it. What is it?

I thought it was food; they have to scan to get some. When I tried to scan as Gordon, he isn't in the system so it makes the "nut-uh" sound. 72.172.218.225 03:21, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Long speech during Nova Prospekt?[]

I don't know if anyone still answers questions here, but is the long speech on the radio in the prison during Nova Prospekt anywhere on this Wiki to read? Even with subtitles on, I was too busy to stand there and pay attention to it. I missed out on it when I played this game years ago too. This game stands the test of time well!TheJoebiusStrip (talk) 00:17, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Point Insertion Trivia[]

Just something I thought could be added as Trivia in "Point Insertion." This is from TV Tropes:

"When you are walking through the square without any weapons, a Strider walks past in the distance, behind a roadblock. If you put the cheat codes in and blast the Strider with the rocket launcher (which you don't normally have at this point in the game) as it passes, it pauses and glares at you for a moment before continuing on its way."

Obviously, the sentence would be worded to comply with this wiki's guidelines.

Not worth it. It is what happens every time you attack a Strider, the difference here is that it's a scripted scene so the Strider is not "allowed" to return fire.—A-06 (talk) 11:10, January 16, 2016 (UTC)

Entanglement[]

Is there a reason Entanglement is labeled chapter 9a and all the rest of them are just given regular numerals? The chapters don't seem to be numbered at all in-game and Entanglement isn't treated any differently. I'm mostly just curious. - Billy Arrowsmith (Talk), 05:26, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

There is a file called "chapterbackgrounds.txt" in the scripts folder, it contains the following:
"chapters"
{
	1	"background01"
	2	"background01"
	3	"background02"
	4	"background02"
	5	"background03"
	6	"background03"
	7	"background04"
	8	"background04"
	9	"background05"
	9a	"background05"
	10	"background06"
	11	"background06"
	12	"background07"
	13	"background07"
